All access to the building and data center (this also includes areas containing connectivity wiring, support services areas, etc.) are monitored and controlled.
Data Center Access
Data Center access is restricted to approved individuals only. Access approval will only be granted by the Chief Information Officer. Access privileges will be requested / granted / revoked using the corporate Change Management system. All access to the Data Center is controlled and monitored through the use of a bio-metrics (Fingerprint recognition system) locking mechanism on the Data Center access door. In addition, all access to the Data Center will be monitored through the use of the following mechanisms:
- Data Center Log Book
- Continuous Video Surveillance of the Data Center
- Still Snapshots of Entry and Exit
The log book (1100-500-900c) will contain the following information:
- Date
- Time in
- Time out
- Name
- Scheduled (Yes or No)
- Purpose of Visit
All persons entering the Data Center are required to complete the necessary information in the log book, this includes both employees and non-employees (contractors, support personnel, etc.). In addition, all non-employees will be escorted at all times by an employee while in the data center.
Video surveillance will be maintained at all times for the Data Center. Still photos will also be automatically taken for each entry and exit from the Data Center. This data/information will be maintained by a member of the Network Administration group.
Data Center Access log is reviewed weekly by IT Management.
Network Security
Encryption ensures FULL security when recovering your data. The software is encrypted using 128 – 256 AES encryption algorithm, established by the U.S. Government for high-security military documents. The encryption key is set by you during installation of the client software. You will select a private encryption key that is known only to you. No one can access your valuable information without this key - not even us! If this encryption key is lost, there is no access to your data.
